Exploration: Ink

Exploration: Ink (2022) was more of an in-class activity where we experimented with ink, which was a pretty new medium to all of us in Drawing 2. I was a little nervous because I have a natural tendency to build thick layers of color or graphite or marks on top of each other to render the shapes that I see; so, having patience and building with light layers of ink to render an image seemed like a challenge. Surprisingly, I found my flow with this medium as shown in this portrait of one of my classmates. I think it was the lack of control that made me feel in control of this medium.
